Connect to your community - Make it a better place – Meet new people – Learn new skills
Volunteers help our church to function and there are plenty of opportunities for you to get involved. Whether it is helping on a regular basis or just when you can, we appreciate any help. It maybe you have certain skills you can share, or even that you want to learn new ones. You may have recently retired or have some free time on your hands and want to do something valuable in your local community. Whatever your reason for volunteering, we’d love to have you as part of our team.
Some of our volunteering roles will offer the opportunity for additional FREE training to enhance your own skills and knowledge. We have both a mixture of ongoing volunteering roles and those which are linked to our 'Jewel in the Marshland' project.
We are also pleased to be part of the Tempo Time Credits scheme, where volunteers can earn credits through their volunteer time and can exchange these for fun activities and rewards.
Some of the Volunteer roles you could get involved with:
Project days – Mix of indoor and outdoor church maintenance and tidying (monthly 8.30-10am)
Helping serve refreshments at events, during our open afternoons run monthly on the first Saturday of the month or in our community café coming soon. For this role we can offer basic food hygiene training.
Skilled handy persons to help with practical tasks such as fitting cupboards or outdoor buildings or grounds maintenance.
Helping to research and write up local historical information about the church, Allhallows and historical events, this could include future visit to the Medway Archives centre when this is possible.
Finance, Fundraising, Marketing – Book-keeping, seeking/writing funding applications to support the project work, producing promotional material.
Website/IT support/graphics and design – for example helping us to ensure our website is kept up to date and to design posters for events.
Helping kept the church interior looking nice - Helping to clean or prepare flower arrangements.
Tour guides – An adhoc opportunity which could be sharing the heritage with members of the public, school groups or other organised group visits.
