The Mackenney Centre, based in Gillingham, provides social interaction and low level personal care for people over 50 and living in Medway. Transport is available, using our fleet of adapted accessible minibuses.

About The Mackenney Centre

For a daily charge you can expect a full day, including a two-course lunch and refreshments throughout the day, as well as a variety of events and activities.

There are a range of activities on offer during the day, including arts and crafts, cooking, reminiscence groups, board games, bingo and quizzes. The centre has an accessible garden where you can enjoy some fresh air, or maybe a little light gardening activity.

Our menu comprises of freshly prepared two course lunch, using ingredients sourced from local independent suppliers.

Free Taster Day

We offer taster sessions for those interested in attending one of our day centres, where you can visit for a couple of hours or even a full day. Get in touch with us to book yours in today!

Hair by Sally Joy

Sally Joy has been providing her hairdressing services at The Mackenney Centre for the past seven years, working from her own salon on site. She is now opening her salon to over-50s across the wider community. As part of this initiative, 20% of the cost of every appointment is donated directly to Age UK Kent Rivers services, helping to support older people locally.
