SafetyNet Telephone Befriending

Disability Assist Centre for Independent Living

We support isolated disabled people and those with long term illness across Kent and Medway. Our befriending service is unique in that we don't have a minimum age limit, we offer calls to adults over the age of 18 years.

Our friendly volunteers provide an opportunity to develop a social connection through regular scheduled telephone call to check on welfare, helping them find and connect with sources of support for essential things like food, safety and health with assistance and guidance from the Centre for Independent Living Kent Information Officers.

All our Volunteers have received Induction training including Safeguarding and Suicide Prevention Training, and cleared the basic DBS check.
