Meals cost from 9p a serving
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community UK has launched a ‘Cheap & Easy Cooking’ campaign today to help tackle food poverty.
The COVID-19 pandemic continues to have a serious impact on the UK and many are struggling to make ends meet. In addition to supporting food banks, helping distribute school meals, providing cooked food for frontline staff and helping neighbours, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community wants to help combat food poverty through its latest campaign.
The campaign shares cost saving and easy to cook recipes, encouraging people to cook at home rather than buying costly ready meals. The guide includes:
* How to shop smart and save money
* Easy chicken korma; keema aloo and chickpeas aloo
* No chop, no prep lentils
* Kebab burgers and bap
It features a recipe booklet and short video tutorials on how to make these dishes quickly, easily and cheaply – with some meals costing as little as nine pence per serving. Starter packs for the recipes are also being donated to food banks to help the neediest.
Sessions Run
Monday morning, Tuesday morning, Wednesday morning, Thursday morning, Friday morning
